CoLRiC would like to invite you to a free virtual lunchtime presentation by Mishka Fielding, Library and Study Centre Manager at Loreto Sixth Form College – Creating a departmental digital strategy – to be held between 12 pm and 1.15 pm on Wednesday 27th April 2022.
Digital provision underpins teaching and learning, resource delivery and discoverability, collection development, management and information literacy. A Loreto SFC departmental review in January 2021 assessed key areas of service delivery including digital resources and library systems, ICT infrastructure and proficiency, information, data and media literacies, digital identity and wellbeing, the student experience of the service and organisational leadership and management.
To coincide with the publication of her article ‘Building a departmental digital strategy’ featured in the latest issue of CoLRiC’s e-newsletter Impact, Mishka, who is also Chair of Jisc’s FE Learning Resources and Library Services Community of Practice, will reflect on the Loreto’s journey. She has over fifteen years’ experience working in libraries and learning resources, and will provide thought-provoking insight into working with Jisc on an organisational approach to articulating a digital strategy. She discusses the methods and resources she used to create an action plan to meet student need and expectations, including her utilisation of Jisc frameworks, team auditing and sharing best practice with other colleges. She also talks about the benefits the strategy has brought for her team and department.

This online seminar will be hosted by CoLRiC’s new Chair Sam Goldsmith, Library Manager at The Manchester College, and after the presentation there will be opportunities for Q&A.
